idea #32 — the ryanair undercoat
if you have recently travelled with ryanair, you have probably tried to believe in the "low cost" assertion. and yet, every click seems to add to the bill. one deadly click is, of course, the "luggage" click. most people used to circumvent ryanair's luggage policy by only have hand-luggage. ha-ha. nice try. quick at detecting consumer habits, ryanair has now made it a costly adventure to travel with any luggage.
combine this to the fact that ryanair do not - yet, so hush, let's keep this a secret - charge for heavier-than-average travellers, the idea became almost blatently obvious: the ryanair undercoat.
a multipocketed, zipped, light but resistant, coat, to be packed with underwear, t-shirt, shoes, books, toothbrushes, trousers, swimsuits, towels, sleeping bags, and worn over a light t-shirt, and beneath the optional matching coat. once in the cabin, just carefully remove your jacket, and place in the overhead bin.
actually, you could almost imagine having a zippable version in which the sleeves become shoulder straps, literally transforming the coat into a travel bag.
